Potter

After teaching art in the Craven County Public Schools for 25 years, Pat Eglinton retired.  Since then, she has immersed herself in creation of art.  Pottery has become the primary focus of her expressive interest.

Pat’s direct interest is in the creation of stackable clay garden sculptures.  These sculptures consist of a series of clay components.  Each component is unique, and each is created by using a potter’s wheel or hand building.  When stacked, these components combine to create a separate collective three-dimensional work.

In 2022, Pat received a North Carolina Arts Council Artist Support Grant to purchase a potter’s wheel.  Doing so has enabled her to more fully explore the use of thrown components in her sculptures.

Pat operates out of Studio 7, which is a working artist’s studio that she opened in November 2021 and located on Highway 17 South.  Classes are offered to members and local professional artists.
